Dr. Sarah H. Garcia DVM, CVA, CERPV, CVMMP

Dr. Garcia grew up riding hunter/jumpers in her home state of South Carolina. She attended Wofford College, receiving her B.S. in Biology and went on to earn her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She received her certification in veterinary acupuncture from the Chi University in Reddick, FL and then completed the Advanced Equine Acupuncture course as well. Dr. Garcia is also certified in Equine Rehabilitation and Performance Medicine as well as Equine Veterinary Medical Manipulation (“veterinary chiropractic”).

She is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), the FVMA (Florida Veterinary Medical Association) the AAVA (American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture), the WATCVM (World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners), and the FAEP (Florida Association of Equine Practitioners).

 

Horse Protection Association of Florida

Dr. Garcia regularly volunteers her time and service at this amazing facility in Micanopy, FL. Starved, neglected, and abused horses are rescued and brought to this farm where they receive appropriate veterinary and farrier care, nutrition, and training. All horses participate in the association’s equine facilitated learning program that benefits not only the horses, but the community as well.
