An integrative approach to the health and wellbeing of your horse.

Dr. Sarah H. Garcia DVM, CVA, CERPV, CVMMP

Equine Wellness

Equine Wellness is a holistic approach to health that encompasses the total horse. It’s more than just the physical health or the absence of disease, rather it involves the balance between multiple areas, including physical, mental, social, environmental and occupational wellness. All of these areas are related and impact one another. By taking a holistic approach and maintaining balance in all aspects of equine wellness, we can reduce the risk of disease and injury, as well as promote optimal health and well-being to enhance performance and quality of life.

Check out the article titled “Equine Wellness: A Holistic Approach to Equine Health” for more information about Equine Wellness and how this approach to health care could benefit your horse.

General Information

Initial Appointment

A thorough patient history and communication with your primary care veterinarian as necessary. A conventional physical exam is integrated with a TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) exam, myofascial exam, as well as an acupuncture diagnostic scan and/or medical manipulation/chiropractic exam. The initial treatment will be specific for your horse. Every exam includes a free Chinese herbal consultation.

Followup Appointments

A custom treatment and/or rehabilitation program is designed for each horse. The number of follow-up appointments and the treatment modalities used each time will be determined at each visit. Most cases require a minimum of 3 treatments for optimal success.
